Creativity

We create because we were created.

We believe that human beings are innately creative creatures because we come from a creative God. We make because we were first made. Ideas come to life when we put our hands to work. Cultivating our creative interests fills us with joy, purpose, and inspiration that we can share with those around us.

Craftsmanship

"A dress should look as good on the inside as it does on the outside."

~ my great-grandmother, grandmother, aunt, and mom

Now in it's fourth generation, this statement convicts, teaches, and challenges me every day with every project.

At Walther Handmade, we believe craftsmanship is key, from start to finish. In order for a structure or item to stand the test of time, it has to be built right, from the inside-out and ground up.

We strive to stock our store with products from companies and makers that exhibit the same dedication to quality. In our own handmade items, we commit to quality from beginning stitch to final flourish. We don't skimp, we don't cut corners, we don't try to cover up mistakes. If something isn't right, we face the issue, assess the best course of action, and work to correct it, to ensure products and processes that our customers can trust.

Caring

Frankly, we do give a darn. (and enjoy the occasional crafting pun)

We strive to work with integrity, honesty, and humility. We believe that human beings have inherent value and should be treated with kindness and respect. We hope our store will be a blessing to all who come in - and strive every day to show our customers how much we care for and value them.

Community

Because crafting is better with friends.

From quilting bees to stitching circles, crafting has always been a way to build and foster community. Creating together builds positive relationships, life-long friendships, and makes a positive, even life-changing, impact on those involved. We welcome crafters of any interest and skill-level and look forward to supporting our local fiber-arts community.

Curiousity

There is always something to learn.

We believe in a growth mindset that is open to learning and trying. We approach new opportunities with a positive outlook and can-do attitude. If there's something we don't know, we will ask questions, do research, and keep trying until we figure it out.
