Crochet Clinic: Learn to Make a Market Bag

Grow your crochet skills and learn to make a wonderful market bag! Whether you are a beginner or experienced, you will enjoy learning how to make eye-catching granny squares and seaming them together to create a fun and functional market bag.

We will be learning how to make the Wildrose Market Bag, designed by Stephanie Lau. This bag is comprised of 13 Granny Squares, seamed together to create a sturdy and stunning bag perfect for all your summertime errands!

During the first class, we will learn the special stitches involved and make a Granny Square. In the second session, we'll learn Stephanie's "special" seaming technique and start attaching all of the squares together. In the last session, we'll learn the waistcoat stitch and start working on the straps. By the end of July, students will have a completed market bag!

You will learn:

• How to understand a written crochet pattern
• New stitches: Puff stitch, cluster, and waistcoat stitch
• How to create a decorative Granny Square
• How to seam Granny Squares together in various methods

Class includes:

• 3 skeins of Old Dominion 100% USA cotton yarn
• You'll choose a color at check-out. If you would like to use multiple colors, please send us a note to discuss options!
• 6 hours of instructions + follow-up help

You will need: 

• The Wildrose Market Bag pattern - available for purchase on LoveCrafts or Etsy
• Yarn Needle
• 2 Crochet Hooks: 2.75 mm and 3.75 mm (US C/2 and F/5)
• Locking stitch markers
• Scissors (optional)

We encourage you to buy your supplies with us, so that we can make sure you have the right tools!

Optional Materials: If you own a "How to Crochet" book that you received during a Crochet 101 class, please bring this with you! 

Skills Needed: This is not a "Learn to Crochet" class. Students should know: how to make a slip knot, how to chain, how to single crochet, and how to double crochet

Class Atmosphere: We like to cultivate a positive, casual atmosphere - be ready to learn, ready to talk, and ready to make new friends!

Age Requirement: Participants must be at least 15 years old to register. Participants younger than 18 must be accompanied by an adult, who has also registered for the class.

Cancellation & Refund: Participants will only receive a full refund if they give at least a 48 hour (2 day) cancellation notice. This gives us time to notify other interested students on the "waitlist."

Participants who do not give a 48 hour notice will not receive a full refund and forfeit all class materials. 

Class fee cannot be transferred to a future class or other product. 

Classes are subject to cancellation due to low registration or other unforeseen (ie "Act of God") circumstances. In these instances, registrants will be notified and fully refunded.
