About the event

Knitting 101: Knitting for Absolute Beginners is a 2-part class that will cover all the basics of knitting. This class is intended for beginners - if you have never knit before, this class is for you!

Over 2 sessions, you will learn the basics of knitting and be introduced to the world of fiber arts.

We'll go over:

  • Yarn and Needles
  • Useful tools & equipment
  • How to make a slip knot
  • How to Cast On (aka: starting)
  • How to knit and purl
  • How to bind off (aka: finishing)
  • Understanding basic knitting patterns and instructions

Class fee includes all materials: set of bamboo needles, starter ball of yarn, practice yarn, and instructional book.

Please note this class will teach knitting from a right-handed perspective.

Skill Level: Very Beginner

Dates: 2 Thursdays- April 6 & 13. Students should plan to attend both sessions. (Sessions cannot be rescheduled. Refunds will not be given if participants are only able to attend 1 session)

Times: 4 ~ 6 PM each session

Instructor: Jillian Walther

Class Atmosphere: These classes are intentionally very small (3 - 4 participants max), so that you have a more personalized experience and can work closely with the instructor and your fellow learners.

Registration: Students can register ("buy tickets) online. Registration will close 24 hours before the class starts, to give the shop/instructor time to gather materials.

Cancellation & Refund: Participants will only receive a full refund if they give at least a 48 hour (2 day) cancellation notice before the first session. This gives us time to notify others who may be interested in taking this class.

Participants who do not give a 48 hour notice will not receive a full refund and forfeit all class materials. Participants cannot put class fee towards a future class or other product.

Classes are subject to cancellation due to low registration or other unforeseen (ie "Act of God") circumstances. In these instances, registrants will be notified and fully refunded.
