Secret Sock Society Strikes Again!

The Secret Sock Society is back for another round in 2025! We're kicking off this not-so-secret club on the 5th Saturday of March: March 29.
A Little Background...
We started the Secret Sock Society in 2024 after some brainstorming with our customers, who wanted to dive deeper into the world of knitting socks. During each of our Society "meetings" in 2024, knitters would show up not knowing exactly what to expect. 😉 I would pick out the sock knitting kit, which included yarn and a pattern. However, the exact sock was a complete secrete until the meeting! When knitters showed up, they were greeted by pre-wound yarn and a printed pattern, and we would all start working through the kit together. Each meeting featured a different kit, so knitters were exposed to all sorts of new yarns and patterns, that they may not have been familiar with.

By popular demand, we are keeping the Secret Sock Society going in 2025! The premise will be the same: you (the sock making fan) sign up for a "meeting" and show up on the designated date/time. Your kit will be waiting for you, but you won't know what it is until you get there! We pick out the kit, wind the yarn, and print the pattern. We will notify you what size hooks or needles to bring beforehand, so that you'll have the right tools!

How do I join the Secret Sock Society?
All you have to do is sign up for one of the Secret Sock Society meetings, and you will automatically become a "member" for this year!

How often does the Sock Society meet?
In 2024, we met 4 times. We don't have all our dates for 2025 set yet, but we are working on it!
What if I can't make one of the meetings?
If you can't make a meeting, but still want that meeting's kit, you can go ahead and register for that meeting. We'll have your kit waiting for you to work on at your convenience.
Will you teach me how to make socks?
The Secret Sock Society is not a "how to" class, but rather a time for those who love to make socks to enjoy time together, exploring new yarns and patterns. While you do not have to be a sock-making-expert, these events are geared towards knitters who know the basics of knitting socks, knitting in the round, and are able to follow a pattern.
We do have "how to make socks" classes throughout the year and encourage you to sign up for those, if you are interested in learning how to knit socks!

How hard are the patterns?
We choose a different pattern for every meeting. Patterns will vary in difficulty from meeting to meeting. Even if a pattern seems above your current skill level, we encourage you to try it out!
What if I have questions about a pattern?
At the beginning of every Sock Society meeting, we look at the pattern together and discuss any special techniques and questions. We encourage everyone who comes to share their experiences and expertise so that we all learn from and are encouraged by one another!
We will also set up a Secret Sock Society Group via the Wix Spaces App, where members can chat, ask questions, share pictures, etc. between meetings.
What do I need to bring?
Prior to each Sock Society Meeting, we will email attendees and let them know what type and size of knitting needles (and crochet hooks, pattern depending) to bring. We will also let you know if there are other special tools or notions the pattern calls for.
We will provide the yarn and printed version of the pattern, so that everyone can dive right in as soon as they arrive!
Is the Secret Sock Society for knitters only?
This will vary meeting to meeting. For our first meeting, we have found a kit that includes both knitting and crochet instructions, so that all crafters can enjoy. We will be on the lookout for similar patterns/kits throughout 2025, so that crocheters can get in on the sock making fun!
