The yarn takes its name from Green River, Wyoming, a little town in Sweetwater County named after the river that runs through it. Because bamboo is a plant fiber, it releases the dye, giving the yarn a soft shimmery look.

Started in 2007, Mountain Meadow Wool Mill is now the largest full service spinning mill in the West. They are dedicated to eco-friendly practices, sustaining local economies, and offering fair prices to their ranchers. They use the term "farm to fashion," because each skein of yarn can be traced back to ranch of origin. They are 100% natural, using bio-degradable soaps and non-petroleum spinning oil, and also recycle 50% of the water used during the scouring process.
