Walther Handmade is excited to welcome The Purling Perry to our corner of the yarn world! The Purling Perry is an indie-dyer based in the mountains of East Tennessee. Specializing in small-batch, hand-dyed yarns, each skein is unique and inspired by the natural beauty of the mountains. After hosting The Purling Perry for a Trunk Show during the 2025 Great Tennessee Yarn Tour, we couldn't live without her vibrant yarns in the shops!
Sand Dollar is a variegated hand-dyed yarn, calling on the soft undulating waves of sand at the beach. Ranging from base colors of deep stone to cream, contrasting colors of green and bronze flitter across the cream, just like seashells strewn across the beach.
With the warmth of stone and occasional golden-bronze flecks, we also think this yarn evokes some strong autumnal vibes. If you are looking to elevate your neutrals, this yarn is for you!
* This yarn is hand-dyed in small batches, making each skein truly unique. Individual skeins may vary in exact tone/color.*
** Please note: Color images may vary due to screen and monitor differences.
The Purling Perry: Sand Dollar - Soft Fingering
Hi! I’m Sarah - owner of The Purling Perry hand dyed yarns in Blountville, TN. I learned to cross stitch as a child, and in 2018, I taught myself to crochet - quickly falling down the fiber art rabbit hole. I soon added knitting and spinning to my skill set, and in October 2021, I officially launched my hand dyed yarn business. After 10 years in banking, I now stay home with our young son and spend my spare time creating small-batch yarns full of color, character and inspiration. Every skein is dyed with care and designed to spark creativity in your next project!
