Big News: We're Opening a Store!

Updated: Oct 8, 2022

Hi everyone! In my last blog post, I mentioned that we were undertaking a big journey of opening a brick-and-mortar store. Today I realized, "Oh yeah, I never actually announced that directly on the blog though..." 😅

So, here's our big news:

Walther Handmade is going Brick & Mortar this summer, and we are *so excited* 🎉🎉🎉

Here are a few details!

What type of store is it?

The Walther Handmade store will be an independent yarn store featuring a full assortment of yarn and fiber, tools and notions, books, magazines, and patterns; craft kits, and artisanal gifts.

We welcome fiber enthusiasts, creative individuals, and anyone curious about yarn crafts or looking to try something new to come and visit us. We welcome makers of all ability levels and craft interests!

When will the store open?

God-willing, we plan to open our doors in August 2022!

Where will the brick & mortar store be located?

In the heart of Harriman! We have found an adorable storefront location on Trenton Street, in downtown Harriman. It is right across from the library and only 1 block away from Roane Street!

Why open a yarn store?

There is nothing quite like making something with one's own two hands. It's a joyful journey of learning a new skill, being a part of a community, and feeling the satisfaction of a finished product. "Making" brings joy and life into the home and the community.

We want to share the joy of making by opening a store that will make the fiber arts more accessible and available to our community!

How can I shop at Walther Handmade?

Our online store is currently open and does have an assortment of handmade items ready for purchase. Once the Walther Handmade brick & mortar location opens, customers will be able to shop in-person!

We will also be expanding our online store to feature the same products that are available in the physical store, so customers can have the same great experience whether shopping from the comfort of one's own home or visiting us in person!

Will we still be making and selling "our stuff"?

Yes! I (Jillian) am always making something! I will continue to weave/crochet/knit/make Walther Handmade originals. These will be available in our online store as well as our brick & mortar store.

How can I stay up-to-date with store announcements?

We will be posting store updates on our blog, so keep reading here! Another great way to keep in touch is to sign up for our mailing list. I send out newsletters 2-3 times per month with updates and news!

We are so thankful for this journey that God has been taking us on and love sharing it with you! Thanks for reading!
